Know what the site records.

Reading and searching#

You can read the public guides and download worksheets without an account. The search box on this site filters a public index in your browser. Search terms are not sent to an AI model. New search and category links use the part of the address after #, which is not sent in an ordinary page request.

The read-only MCP connection works differently: your chosen AI client sends its tool request to our public endpoint. It searches the same published library. It does not connect to your racks, network, inventory, or files. Your AI provider's own policies apply to what you send that provider.

Optional YouTube videos#

Video pages initially show an image served by Rackstamp and a readable transcript. No YouTube player, thumbnail request, or connection is loaded until you choose Play. The player then connects to YouTube through its privacy-enhanced embed domain, youtube-nocookie.com. Google receives connection and playback information under its privacy policy. See YouTube’s explanation of privacy-enhanced mode.

Choosing Stop and unload removes the player; it does not erase information already processed by YouTube. The site measurement setting is separate from this playback choice. Direct Watch on YouTube links open the provider’s website.

Optional site measurement#

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages and downloads are useful, Vercel Speed Insights to identify loading and interaction problems, and Google Analytics to measure how readers arrive at the library and which guides they use. The measurement code removes query parameters and fragment text from the page URL before sending an event. Download events contain the public document filename and page path; they do not contain the contents of your downloaded workbook.

Vercel describes its analytics as aggregated measurement without third-party tracking cookies. Data may include page paths, referring sites, approximate location, browser and device information, and performance measurements. Google Analytics works differently from the two Vercel measurements. It stores its own identifier in this browser so that repeat visits can be counted as one reader, and it sends the page address, referring site, and browser and device information to Google. This site sends the page path only, with query parameters and fragment text removed, and asks Google to truncate the address the request arrives from. Read Google's description of how it uses data from sites that use its services for details of that processing.

All three measurements share the single setting described below. Turning measurement off stops Google Analytics from loading at all, rather than loading it and asking it not to record.

The site skips optional measurement when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or enables Do Not Track. You can also change the site setting below. That choice is stored in this browser only and does not change another device's setting.

Tool and search measurement#

Successful tool actions and CSV exports are measured by tool name and public page path, at most once per action per page visit. Search-result clicks record the destination guide, not the search words. These events do not include form values, generated identifiers, CSV contents or worksheet records. Use the measurement setting below to exclude your own testing sessions.

Contact messages#

If you email Rackstamp, your email provider and ours process the message. We use it to respond to your inquiry or investigate the issue you report. Do not send confidential infrastructure records. We ask permission before publishing reader quotations or sharing an identifiable case study; private messages are not provided to sponsors.

Hosting and connection logs#

Vercel hosts this site and processes the requests needed to serve pages, files, and the public MCP connection. Operational records can include request addresses, IP addresses, timing, status, and browser information. Our MCP handler records request method, response status, and duration for troubleshooting; it does not write the tool request body to application logs.

Use the labeling examples with fictional or appropriately scoped identifiers when exploring the public connection. Actual site records belong in your own approved systems.

External links and downloaded records#

Source links lead to publishers and manufacturers with their own policies. A source note on this site is a bibliographic explanation, not a copy of the publisher's full standard. Once you download and complete a worksheet, that file is managed by you and the applications you choose; this site has no upload form for completed records.

This page describes the site's current behavior. Changes to measurement or data access should be reflected here when implemented.

Rack labeling workbench#

The optional DC42 3D model and its textures load from Rackstamp when you choose Load interactive 3D. Unload 3D releases the model. Equipment, connection, and label entries stay in the current tab and are not sent to our servers. Reloading clears unsaved edits. Save project downloads a JSON file on your device; Open project reads the file locally. Draft packs are also generated locally. The existing optional measurement setting may record that a workbench export occurred, never the IDs, endpoints, filenames you enter, or project contents.
