Telecommunication Infrastructure Standards prepared by IT Network Operations, revision 1.17, revision date March 2012. Establishes one campus’s labeling appendix: copper patch cords labeled with the switch and port number on the patch panel end and the patch panel and port number on the switch end; outside plant fiber labeled at each end with the far-end building name and number, mode and strand count, placed between 12 and 36 inches from a conduit and at 200-foot intervals along its run; riser fiber labeled on both ends with the far-end room number, strand count and mode. The document describes itself as a minimum standard and a starting point for collaboration, and names TIA/EIA-568-B and TIA/EIA-606-A, both superseded editions, so it is cited as a dated worked instance rather than as current requirements.
